Visafone Unveils Mobile Office, Targets 1million Subscribers By Stanley Opara 1st July 2008
National mobile operator, Visafone, on Friday unveiled a new service, Visafone Mobile Office, which offers push email to users.
Push email is a service that allows email through users’ mobile phones. The company said the new service was aimed at revolutionising the way the busy executive talk and work by giving him the flexibility of taking his office along with him wherever he goes.
Visafone Mobile Office, the company explained, had all the features of other services in its category like the Blackberry, with benefits and features including true push, instant delivery, low monthly tariffs, fast Internet access via CDMA 1x/EVDO 24/7.
It added that the phone could also be used as modem and to synchronise emails.
It also offers global address access, as well as easy payment for data via recharge cards. “We have made communication and the tools that enable it affordable and accessible with our low-priced handsets, reasonably-priced data cards and super-fast Internet connections and wide coverage. He added that the company’s subscriber base was growing exponentially with coverage now in 16 states and over 150 cities. “We have not only covered almost half the states in Nigeria, our subscriber base is aggressively moving towards the one million subscriber mark,” he added. Thomas noted that in the second half of 2008, the company would maintain its consumer-friendly policy in terms of handset pricing, wide coverage and excellent service quality, which had become its hallmark. The mobile office service, he noted, corroborated the company’s innovative and value added products and services like the Share Ur Visa, Visa Chat, Call Me, Credit Me, Family & Friends and Visa mobile chat, among others.
