Globacom Explains Service Disruption

Globacom has alerted its subscribers to possible disruption in services, saying its contractors are working on expanding the network capacity.

In a statement issued in Lagos, it said that the ongoing efforts at boosting network capacity were to enable subscribers enjoy better call clarity and also to increase the capacity of the network to cope with the increasing growth in subscriber base.

Globally, such network upgrade efforts, the company added, usually came with temporary inconvenience to the existing subscribers. However the company added that adequate efforts were being made to ensure that the inconvenience was minimal wherever it occurred.

Globacom appealed for the understanding of its subscribers, especially in the North West zone of the country where some key cities and locations such as Shendam in Plateau State and Markurdi in Benue State, had been experiencing service disruptions for some days.

The company said efforts were being intensified to clear the disruptions caused by the company‘s fast-tracked efforts to give subscribers in the region value for money by ensuring better call reception and clarity.

”Before we embarked on the network expansion project, we envisaged that service disruptions would occur in one or two places, and so we have been working to ensure that the problems reported in some areas of the North East of the country are quickly resolved,” Globacom‘s Executive Director, Marketing Communications, Okon Iyanam, said.
