Reltelwireless Expands Its Operations

Reltelwireless, a leading Private Telephone Operator (PTO) which recently extended its operations to the Federal Capital Territory has launched an aggressive service rollout plan which will see the CDMA service provider add five new cities to its network and establish 100 additional base stations across the nation within three months.

A statement from the Head, Corporate Communications and Brands, Utibe Uko, stated that the rollout plan is part of Reltelwireless long term strategy to extend its services across Nigeria. “The cities of Benin, Enugu, Ibadan, Owerri and Umuahia will soon experience premium telephony provided by Reltelwireless. Subscribers in these and other cities across the country have asked that Reltelwireless launch it services in their areas so this is actually a response to meet the communication needs of our subscribers. Together, a total of over forty base stations will be put up to commence operations in the five new additional cities to the Reltelwireless network, Uko said.

According to the Reltelwireless spokesman, the rollout plan “shows that we will establish at least 100 new base stations across Nigeria within the next three months. In addition to the new base stations in these new cities over sixty new base stations will added to our current network in the Lagos, Port-Harcourt, Aba, Abuja and Onitsha. He assured the subscribers that the company would also continue to give them valued-added services and incentives as the network deploys its services to more communities and cities in the country.

Uko said that Reltelwireless has been a trail-blazer over the years in the effort to make telephony available and affordable to the populace as envisaged by the federal government, following the opening up of the telecommunications sector to private investors. The Reltelwireless spokesman cited the company’s recent slashing of international calls by a record 70 per cent, saying that the gesture had forced other networks to review some charges imposed on subscribers.

Reltelwireless which opened shop in 2001 has endeared itself to subscribers in the country, after introducing its popular Bonus cards, designed to give the subscriber the option of per second billing on the CDMA platform.
