Starcomms, Nigeria’s largest CDMA 3G Mobile Operator will be exhibiting its latest product, the EV-DO, at the forthcoming Lagos International Trade fair. The EV-DO is a 3G Broadband Mobile Internet service, which is the latest generation ultra-speed mobile wireless broadband and the first deployment of its kind in West Africa.

Other business solutions for individual corporate use that will be on display at the Lagos fair holding from November 3, 2006, at the Badagry fair ground include: the Virtual Private Network (VPN), Mobile & Fixed wireless access terminals, PABX, 2000 1X Mobile Data card, Super Turbo Xtra card and many others.

According to a statement made available to Nigerian Tribune, the Commercial Director of the fixed telephone operator, Mr. Prakash Pantham, said Starcomms’ presence at the International fair would provide an opportunity of immense value to visitors in getting first hand information about our products and services.
Customers would also be privileged to make purchases at discounted rates. Starcomms recently acquired the Unified License from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

The license gives the company access to offer all types of telecommunications services that are 3G compliant and it has commenced aggressive roll-out across the country. The company with about 400,000 subscriber base has also started operating the Per Second Billing (PSB) plan on its network. The PSB tariff enables subscribers to make calls to GSM for as low as 58k/s while On-Net calls go for 16k/s.
