Stock Movement Is Consistent
26st MAR 2007
The performance of the capital market was mixed for the weekend, as several stocks still closed above their 52-week performance.
Although stocks, closing above their 52-week high, indicate further price appreciation, investors last week seized the opportunity to buy and sell shares.
Stock watchers said that the banking sector still dominated activities at the market with most of them, including Zenith, Intercontinental, UBA, Union Bank and GTB Bank, raking in high volume of share turn-over, similar to the picture for the 52-week, which ended the previous weekend.
Also, some of the stocks that closed at above their 52-week higher are: RT Briscoe, Dangote Sugar, BetaGlas, Incar Nigeria Plc, Julius Berger Nig. Plc, National Salt Co., Pharmdeko, Fidelitybank, Nig. Enamel, John Holt, Costain, Avon Crown, Ngropes, Mutual Benefits, among others.
