Excitement Over Afribank’s N100b Offer    

The plan by Afribank Nigeria Plc to raise N100 billion in the capital market is generating excitement in many quarters. When the plan was mentioned at the This Day Musical Show, the audience was particularly excited.

The Victoria Island Regional Manager of Afribank, Mr. Innocent Achi, who spoke on behalf of the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive, Mr. Sebastian Adigwe, invited the audience to invest in the proposed Afribank Public offer. He explained that with the bank’s sterling performance in the last financial year and in the first quarter of this financial year the bank’s stock has been investors’ delight.

The bank sponsored the 2007 edition of the This day Style Musical Show in Lagos.
The Show saw the Black Eyed Peas performing live at the This day Centre for Education and Arts along Lekki Expressway, Victoria Island. The bank said that "it plans to grow the entertainment industry through exposure of local talents and artists to the international scene and support for collaboration between local and foreign artists".

The bank explained that the market potentials of the entertainment industry are very huge and could only be developed through private sector initiative. "Nigeria has abundant talents in the show business. They need support from private sector and government to develop their talents through promotions and exposure", the bank added.

Afribank has packaged specialised products and services which Nigerian artists could access to acquire tools and grow their business locally and abroad. Mr. Achi listed products available to the artists such as Afribank Life improvement for Everyone (A-LIFE). This enables artists to access funds “to organize shows, purchase equipment and finance projects. Others are Target Savings Account, Afribank Apprenticeship Scheme.

Achi also advised Nigerian show biz promoters and artists to visit any of the 250 branches of Afribank for financial advisory services on project finance.
