DESOPADEC Unfolds Free Healthcare Plans

The newly established Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission is set to commence free medical treatment in the riverine areas. The official flag-off of the free medicare, according to the state Governor's special assistant on media and publicity, Mr. Monday Whiskey, would be performed by Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan.

The renovation works had been completed at the Okerenkoko Health Centre, one of the centres that would be used for the programme. The Chairman of DESOPADEC Chief Wellington Okrika said many of the health facilities in most of the riverside communities had been completed, hence the body was commencing free medicare for just one week where it had mandate to operate.
