FCT Generates N6b As Revenue

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) now rakes in over N6 billion as internally generated revenue, compared to N800, 000 it generated before 2003, the Acting FCT Minister and Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Mohammed Sani Alhassan has disclosed.

Alhassan, disclosed during a valedictory gala night for Mallam Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai in Abuja, said that the rise was achieved because of the turn-around in the administrative structures of the Territory, as it was no longer business as usual in the collection of revenue. He said the reform experienced in the FCT over the past four years had not only become a model for other arms of the Federal Government, but were being emulated by other states of the federation.

He attributed this to inspiration from the former Minister, who, he stated for nearly four years, had taken the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) through the "road of learning to do the right things for the nation".
