RMAFC Criticises NNPC

The Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) has criticised State oil firm, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) for not remitting a total of N479 billion to the nation’s coffers, thereby raising questions about how the Nation’s oil money was disbursed from that sector between 2004 and 2006. In the scathing report RMAFC said the NNPC’s record of the amount of crude oil lifted in the country contradicts what the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) filed in its records. "Regrettably, instead of decreasing, the amount withheld increased in huge arithmetic proportions in subsequent months," noted the report.
