Pat Utomi (ACD Presidential Candidate)

Utomi Emerges Flag bearer for ACD as Buhari
 Does Same for ANPP

The African Democratic Congress yesterday adopted Professor Pat Utomi, as the party’s presidential candidate in the 2007 general election.  Utomi won the ticket unopposed following a unanimous ‘yes’ voice vote.  “Poverty is the most pervasive factor in Nigeria; it produces an army of social miscreants and sends our best talents abroad. Our government will banish poverty in Nigeria, we will create five million jobs in three years through massive infrastructural development” Utomi said.

Meanwhile, former military ruler, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday emerged the consensus candidate of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) for the coming presidential election.  His emergence followed the decision of the Southern hope, Chief Pere Ajunwa, to step down from the race after much persuasion.
