The Minister of Commerce and Industry, Chief Achike Udenwa, says necessary measures are being put in place to ensure that Nigeria does not become a dumping ground for consumables from other countries.
Speaking on Monday in Abuja when he received a Bulgarian delegation led by the country's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ivailo Kalfin, Udenwa commended the good relations between Nigeria and Bulgaria, which he traced to the early 60's when many Nigerians went to Bulgaria to study, and said such relations should be strengthened. He said "What Nigeria does not want to become is a dumping ground for mainly consumables in our trade relations. We are now focusing more on technology transfer.''
The minister said Nigeria would soon send a trade delegation to Bulgaria and Romania, to promote its trade and investment potential in cooperation between the two countries. He suggested that both countries should forge an enduring partnership for the promotion of trade and investment.
