Govt Begins e-Governance Training For 30,000 Workers

The Federal Government on Wednesday commenced the training of about 30, 000 of its workers on electronic governance system, e-Governance. The technical training is part of the e-Readiness Capacity Building Programme jointly organised by the National e Government Strategies, NeGST, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), the office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Bureau of Public Service Reforms and its development partners. NeGST said at the commencement of the training in Abuja on Wednesday that much seriousness had been attached to creating a new virile public service through public service reforms. The broad based e-Readiness capacity building programme is designed to train an estimated 30, 000 public officers of various categories in Abuja, Minna, Jos, Kaduna, Gombe, Akure, Abakaliki, Calabar and Lagos before the end of the 2006.
