Inflation Rate Drops

Nigeria's inflation rate dropped to 10 percent in the 12 months ending September 2006 from 11.4 percent the previous month. The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said yesterday that the fall in the index was caused mainly by a slight decrease in the prices of some food items. Nigerian inflation rose for most of 2005 because of an increase in the pump price of petroleum products in the country.
