Afribank Bags CBN Award

For its outstanding performance, Afribank Nigeria Plc has received Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Enugu Zone, "Banker of the Year Award." Afribank was adjudged to have performed excellently during the 2006 Clearing House activities in the zone.
Specifically, Afribank was rated excellent in vital parameters - accuracy and best conduct, which earned it the award in the zone.
According to the controller, CBN, Enugu Zone, Afribank emerged the over all award winner because "it stood out among the banks in the zone in the areas of prompt returns, ethical conduct, compliance, infrastructure and business disposition.
He added that the friendly business approach and responsiveness of Afribank, which facilitated the operations of CBN in Enugu Zone during the Year, impressed the CBN.
Mr. Obi Nwike, Enugu Branch Manager of Afribank, expressed delight at the award stating that the bank would continue to live to the expectations of stakeholders. Nwike noted that Afribank's operational processes and systems, professionalism, ethical policy and corporate governance structure had positioned it to operate smoothly with regulatory authorities and meet the business needs of its clients.
The branch manager assured that Afribank would continue to implement policies that would make it a reference point in the industry.
