Union Bank of Nigeria PLC has re-affirmed its commitment to all Nigerians in the diaspora of efficient and prompt delivery of funds sent through MoneyGram in the Bank.
The Bank’s Executive Director (Corporate and International Banking), Mr Austin Obigwe, gave the assurance during the Bank’s MoneyGram 10th anniversary promotion held in Lagos recently.
He stated that with over 400 branches nationwide, Union Bank had all it took to deliver the money transfer service to its customers and prospective ones, stressing that the Bank also had the widest reach to rural areas, where dependents reside.
Meanwhile, five loyal customers of Union Bank who emerged winners in its first MoneyGram raffle draw have been presented with attractive prizes.
The Bank has also set aside more attractive prizes and gifts for other lucky loyal customers in subsequent raffle draws, which would run till February 2008.
At a colourful ceremony organized by MoneyGram Nigeria to handover prizes to lucky winners, Mrs Joke Giwa, MoneyGram Country Director, Nigeria, said that the ongoing campaign was a friendly way of rewarding customers for their patronage.
One of the winners, Mrs Esther Ogunbiyi, who received her car keys, praised God, MoneyGram and Union Bank for playing various roles to make her miracle come through.
Similarly, Mr Vincent Udosen, a United States-based Nigerian, who was in the country for his wedding, and Mrs Edith Oyigbo from Enugu received keys to brand new motor-cycles and praised Union Bank for its courteous service.
Furthermore, Messrs Hilary Okoro, a car dealer, and Fred Itota, a timber convector, emerged winners of brand new generators.
