Bank PHB Premieres The Intern Reality TV Show
By Clifford Amuzuo

The maiden edition of the much talked about business oriented reality television show The Intern”  featured last  Friday on two major television stations, Silver Bird and Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) with Bank PHB, Nigeria’s emerging icon for banking excellence providing  effective supervision and sponsorship.

Coming a month latter than actually scheduled owing to production and logistic challenge, Nigerians in all works of life will for the next 13 successive  weeks beginning from last Friday  be glued to their television sets to watch the show which TV viewers eagerly awaited.

The Intern is the programme of focus for anyone interested in understanding the intrigues of business and how decisions are made in the boardroom, why one applicant picks up appointment and another turned back, why one employee moves up the corporate ladder while others remain stagnant, and why one employee gets promoted and others get fired.

This Unique programme according to the organisers marks “the beginning of the redefinition of how a truly responsive institution engages with its publics and seeks to re-direct the attention, and interest of our people, especially the youth, to enduring activities that build the nation.

Progressively emerging as the corporate conscience of the nation, Bank PHB is again rising to the challenge of setting the agenda for the emergence of a nation whose future leaders are thoroughly equipped to handle challenges in a fast changing world.

Selected journalists had the privilege to see the re-enactment of intrigues, challenges, conflicts, betrayals and ingenuity that take place in corporate boardroom live on television as they watched glimpses of pre- recorded scenes from the TV reality show at the scenic, waterfront Intern House, on Lekki Lagos axis.

The ten young Nigerians in the corporate battle field displayed uncommon intellect as they creatively tackle the different business challenges and tasks that were placed before them.
It was just a glimpse of the excitement that is set to unfold for TV viewers as each week, they are expected to tackle a different business challenge and each week, someone among them will be “fired” for failing to tackle the business challenge successfully.
